ABOUT GLEN CANNON
Glen Cannon is known for its waterfalls, beautiful vistas, long range and winter views, creeks, streams and its larger lot sizes with most homes residing on one to two acres of land.
The community was established in 1965 as a premier golf course community and though the golf course is no longer operational, it remains a highly desirable place to call home. Currently, there are approximately 230 custom, site-built homes within the community, 48 condominiums and just under 40 privately owned lots.
The custom-built homes range in price from the mid $200,000s to over a million. Although many of the homes are set in the tranquility of the deciduous forest throughout the development, many homes have amazing views of the mountains, as well as the lights of Brevard. Other homes are situated on streams running throughout the development. For some Glen Cannon is their second home, yet almost 80% of the residents live here year-round.
Glen Cannon has over 14 acres of green space with hiking trails, some meandering along Camp Creek. Even when walking along the roadsides, the tranquility of the water flowing from the mountain springs, streams and creeks can be heard throughout the community.
Pisgah Forest is located in Transylvania County, home to over 250 waterfalls. Glen Cannon is within close proximity to Dupont State Forest and Pisgah National Forest, appealing to biking, hiking, and kayaking enthusiasts of all ages. The waterfalls within Dupont are some of the most magnificent and were featured in the “Hunger Games” movie. The French Broad River and the Davidson River host some of the best fly fishing in the world!

Glen Cannon’s close proximity to Brevard and all of its amenities provides convenience to grocery stores, schools, restaurants, shops, the hospital and entertainment. Brevard hosts many festivals throughout the year including the White Squirrel Festival and the Mountain Song Festival. It is also home to the Brevard Music Center with its summer concert series featuring internationally renowned performers in both classical and popular genres.
Brevard also has two colleges, Brevard College and Blue Ridge Community College. It is approximately 40 minutes from the artistic community of Asheville, when fantastic nightlife and five-star restaurants are desired. For those who desire to travel, the Asheville Airport is only 25 minutes away and in under 50 miles Greenville, South Carolina.
